Tractor time

Shot across Lancaster canal at Forton, UK, with Hawthornthwaite Fell and Grizedale Head rising up in the far distance, this farmer races across his field with an empty seed dispenser on the rear of his tractor, as the crows are already on the ground hoovering up his last deposit.

Wooden stare

This wood-hewn carving of an old Fisherman wrapped in waterproofs stands in a cemetery in Morecambe, along with a matching ‘Fish Wife’ statue, both of whom have been whittled from two similar-sized logs: his wooden stare and cracked beard – complete with a resident Spider and its web – gazes forlorn towards Morecambe Bay’s sea water and beyond, awaiting for a chance to take to the water once again…

Light-flash

Moisture-sodden clouds drift into view overhead, spoiling a brilliant Sunset behind Winter’s barren branches, but in turn also creating its own unique “light-flash” appearance along the way…

Ecstasy

A hen Pheasant takes time out of her busy schedule to absorb some rays and kick back. She was apparently lost in the throes of ecstasy, her mottled feathers warming up as she sunbathed, head cocked back with beck agape and eyes only half-open: indeed, so enamoured with the Sun was this game bird that I could approach to within just a foot’s length without her darting for cover in the nearby undergrowth, blissfully unaware of all around her…

A lone, crumbling concrete street light barely stands upright, a remnant of the old oil refinery that was located on the Heysham peninsula next to Middleton, from its WWll inception in 1939, until its closure in 1976.
