Wooden stare

This wood-hewn carving of an old Fisherman wrapped in waterproofs stands in a cemetery in Morecambe, along with a matching ‘Fish Wife’ statue, both of whom have been whittled from two similar-sized logs: his wooden stare and cracked beard – complete with a resident Spider and its web – gazes forlorn towards Morecambe Bay’s sea water and beyond, awaiting for a chance to take to the water once again…

*Shot on an Olympus E-P5 16mp M4/3 digital camera using a Panasonic Lumix G 14mm f/2.5 pancake lens with camera settings at ISO-200, aperture at f/5, spot metering mode and an exposure time of 1/160 seconds*
