Single Daisy

Single Daisy

A lone, single Daisy stands proud above the tangled grasses beneath; the tiny flower’s dial-arranged, white petals and yellow stamen centre disc blaze before the emerald-green carpet, crying out for Sunlight in every stretch of its slender stalk.

Fast track

Fast track

A train on its daily route between Rochdale and Mills Hill railway stations, speeding ever onwards to collect or deposit work-weary commuters and bag-laden shoppers near to their doorsteps, thundering along the miles of track that criss-crosses the whole borough of Greater Manchester.

Rememberance

Rememberance

A splash of colour can alter the most dire of rememberance scenes, even if the centre of attention is made of plastic…

In-flight

In-flight

This heron barely clears the surface of Rochdale canal in Middleton and furiously beats its lumbering wings in the hope of avoiding a soaking, watery surprise!

Ridge Racer

Ridge Racer

Yes, that coloured speck is indeed a Mountain biker skimming across the top of some lofty cliffs that overlook Dovestones reservoir in Greenfield. How close this ‘Ridge Racer’ actually is to the real edge of  the ‘precipice of death’ is uncertain – mainly due to the focal length position of the lens and the aperture’s f-number setting – but still the overall effect is pretty convincing!

Caught in the act

Caught in the act

Harvey the Shih Tzu cross (crossed with what though is anyone’s guess!) is well and truly caught in the act of cocking his leg and letting rip, without a care in the world!

Quiet Cherub

Quiet Cherub

A chipped and flaking weather-worn Cherub lets all know to keep quiet in the presence of this cemetery’s resting souls and is so intent on shushing us, it is seemingly oblivious to the fact that the bowl balanced upon its shoulder is now empty except for a decaying, fallen leaf.

Bare branches

The pitch-black, bare branches of this Elm tree spreads its naked tendrils beneath an overcast sky, hopeful that just a slither of light will manage to escape…
