Young Thumper’s acting class

This young Rabbit believed that by staying completely still that I would walk right past without noticing its presence; I did quickly whizz by, but my camera caught the Bunny’s statue act as I went…

Little white fluffy clouds

A woman walking her dog can be seen as a tiny white speck as she approaches a white farmhouse, where a white-dappled Horse stands on a nearby hillock, all played out beneath a glorious canopy of little white fluffy clouds turning into grey…

The Twins

Snapped this shot of a pair of inquisitive Lambs up near Ogden reservoir at Piethorne Valley in Oldham (although truth be told, they soon scattered, bleeting for their Mothers as they went)!

Mirrored in a watery death

A lonely Himalayan Balsam leans towards its inevitable watery end, swallowed up by a flash deluge and left with just a reflection of itself for company in the black mirrored surface.

Lazying on a sunny afternoon

Without a care in the world and probably daydreaming of carefree gambolling, this sleeping Foal is oblivious to all in his slumber…

Sunshine delight

As this Speckled Wood Butterfly stopped flitting and touched down just for a second, the Sun broke through the clouds and illuminated the scene to perfection. Now the insect and the leaf it clings to are rendered in brilliance: the interlocking delicate wings of the rustic-hued Butterfly and the green chlorophyll-filled veins of the plant reveal details otherwise hidden from the camera’s view.

Shaking all over

A female Mallard duck is caught in freeze-frame shaking off the excess water from one of her many dips in the Rochdale canal!

The lone guardian

This hardy Horse Chestnut tree stands alone on a barren section of moorland, high in Piethorne Valley: a guardian awaiting the cycle of seasons…

The landed Tench

I came across this wonderful sight just the other day as I walked along the Rochdale canal near to Castleton: a red-eyed Tench, full of Summer fight and green of flank just being brought to the lip of a fisherman’s landing net after a battle and a half.
