In the leaf-fall

This male Pheasant’s drab back plumage is the perfect camouflage for rummaging around in last Autumn’s leaf-fall, although he has now given himself away by looking behind and flashing his vivid, crimson eye patches for all to see!

*Shot on a Panasonic Lumix G9 M4/3 mirrorless camera using a Panasonic 100-300mm f/4-5.6 MEGA O.I.S mark II lens with settings at ISO-200, aperture at f/5.6, spot metering mode and an exposure time of 1/160 seconds*
