Chanterelle

I was testing out a camera today and spotted this Chanterelle mushroom down in the leaf-litter and mosses in Lords Lot Wood, illuminated by a flash of Sunshine through the overhead foliage, which revealed that some hungry critter has already taken a crafty bite from its tasty rim!

(I think this is a Chanterelle, please let me know if I’m wrong, as a lot of wild mushrooms and fungi look very similar in the UK…)

*Shot on a Canon 1D Mark III 10mp professional dSLR using a Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L lens with settings at ISO-400, aperture at f/7.1, spot metering mode and an exposure time of 1/250 seconds*
