Little Egret

A Little Egret (Egretta Garzetta) delicately trots its yellow-tipped feet across the fast flowing waters of the river Lune at Halton in Lancaster. Once a rare and exotic visitor to the UK from sunnier climates, there are now an estimated 700-800 breeding pairs of this spectacular white Heron in Great Britain and they definitely seem to be thriving around the lower reaches of the Lune, especially near Condor Green’s estuary section.
