A limestone cross inscribed with “In loving memory of…” has been reclaimed by Nature over time: with Her swirling, scratching brambles jostling for a place in the Sun for their red fruits and Her speckled lichens slowly encroaching upon the stone’s surface, the person’s name to whom this mortal message was once dedicated to now lies forgotten, lost beneath Her enveloping embrace…
