Also the Angel
A picture of a grave headstone with a lichen-peppered Angel sculpture sitting atop – its eyes closed and hands’ clasped together to symbolise a sleeping soul resting beneath – framed in such a way that only one word of the inscription has been captured in the photo. So ‘Also the Angel, Heavenly Messenger of the Additional’ seems to be a fitting moniker…

I’m a big fan of stone angel photography (especially after snowfall) and this is one of the finest I’ve seen. It has a simple, child’s picture-book quality about it. Where can this headstone be found? Regards, Paul
Many thanks. The headstone is in the UK, situated in a small cemetery in a place called Royton, which is near Oldham in Greater Manchester, Lancashire.
A long journey for me but I think it’ll be worth it! Cheers
