A female Wheatear plays ‘hide and seek’ on a signpost up on Wolfhole Crag, the second highest peak in the Forest of Bowland at 527metres (1,729ft): she was popping her head out from behind the lichen-covered wooden post every couple of seconds, just showing enough of herself to make sure she knew where I was at all times!
