The classic ‘red with white spots’ Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria), a highly toxic and hallucinogenic mushroom that thrives around Birch trees and conjures up imagery related to fairies, gnomes and other magical folk.
Obviously there are some woodland critters unaffected by this fungi, as the two semi-circular bitemarks on the right disc shows!
