Langden Valley

A shot taken in the heart of the Forest of Bowland, from the lower slopes of Hareden Fell (409 metres/1341 feet) – which is a gradual sweep of moorland grasses named Miry Ellis (271 metres/889 feet) – and looking across the coiling Langden Brook, as the waterway splits the valley in two looming halves: on the left side can be seen the base and start of Birch Bank (399 metres/ 1309 feet); and over on the right side, where the path separates from an easy walk into a moderate clamber upwards towards the few remaining stones of Holdron Castle, lie thelofty summit ridges of Holdron Moss (414 metres/1358 feet), Black Clough Head (410 metres/1345 feet) and Lingy Pits (433 metres/1420 feet) all running from right to left.
