Waterfowl on the canal
Just a quick one with some pics from a stroll down the Middleton stretch of the Rochdale canal, starting with a nice shot of a male Mallard snaffling some bread.
A Heron gliding above me.
A series of close-up shots of Canadian Geese:
… with some great time-frozen water droplets thrown in for good measure!
Not strickly a member of the waterfowl family but lives in reeds and marshland, so here’s a Reed Bunting.
This white Duck came close enough to me for this close-up shot, although too late for some bread!
Finally, an old male Mallard hanging on in there for this season; his bill’s yellow has faded, his head feathers have lost their green vibrancy and his eyes seemed dulled with age but still he keeps going!
